Formats we often record

Interview shows with two hosts and a guest, solo narration for docs or audiobook samples, internal staff updates, voice-over for explainers, and episodes partly recorded on Zoom that need a clean studio intro. Up to three speakers at once in the booth is comfortable; larger groups split between booth and table with separate tracks.

We do not host live streaming with chat or audience in the room — other venues suit that better. You can take a rough export after recording to check at home.

Space and signal

The vocal booth is 10 m², treated for speech without room echo. The podcast table in the control room keeps eye contact and engineer access. We have 8 headphone sends and enough preamps for small groups — not a theatre panel with an audience.

Each speaker gets their own track so editing can fix breath overlap and level differences later. That matters when one host speaks louder than the other.

Editing and loudness

Basic editing means trimming silences, removing obvious flubs, consistent intro/outro, and loudness near what Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube suggest — often around −16 LUFS for stereo shows unless your host sends other specs.

Heavy sound design, bespoke music beds or deep cleanup of bad Zoom sources is outside basic edit and is billed per hour of source audio. Noisy remote files are reviewed honestly before we start.

Rates

Prices include 21% VAT for consumers.

Business net rates on request. Deposit 25% on confirmation; free reschedule up to 5 days ahead. Late cancel may cost 50% of the booked amount — see terms and conditions.

Speaker prep

Bring outline or script on tablet or printed flat paper — no rustling at the mic. Room-temperature water; go easy on dairy right before recording. Our warm-up guide covers breath and articulation.

If a guest joins by video call, you run the link; we record local voices and can only capture remote audio if your setup is stable. You or your editor sync to picture — we deliver audio from time zero unless agreed otherwise.

Delivery files

Default: edited WAV 24-bit/48 kHz plus an MP3 for quick review. On request separate speaker stems or clean vs lightly processed versions. We do not publish to your podcast host; you upload to Spotify for Podcasters, Transistor, your LMS or elsewhere.

Files go out by secure link. Keep local copies: after 12 months we delete studio archive unless you buy an extension. See privacy policy for retention of recordings.

Voice-over in the same room

Short voice-over for animation, e-learning or phone prompts can use the same booth as vocal recording, but podcast rates apply when you book podcast hours or the pack. Long narration with many retakes may suit studio hours better than edit hours — we state that on the quote.

Multiple languages in one day are fine if speakers take turns; translation and direction stay yours unless you bring external talent.
