Booking and payment
How do I reserve studio time?
Send the contact form, email [email protected] or call +31 (0)20 214 18 52. State service, duration, track count and possible dates. Within 2 working days you receive a proposal and written quote.
What deposit do you ask for?
25 % of the quoted amount after written acceptance. Consumers pay the balance on session day; business clients within 14 days of invoice.
How can I pay?
Bank transfer for deposit and final invoice; card payment in the studio where available. IBAN and reference are on quote and invoice.
What if I need to cancel or move the date?
Up to 5 days before the session, rescheduling or cancellation is free. Inside that window we charge 50 % of the total unless we rebook the slot. See terms and conditions.
Do your prices include VAT?
Yes. Listed rates on services include 21 % VAT; the excl. VAT column sits beside them. Example: vocal studio hour €89 incl. VAT.
During the session
How long does it take to record a vocal?
For a three- to four-minute pop chorus we usually plan two to four hours including soundcheck and comping. Well-prepared guide tracks shorten that.
How many musicians fit at once?
Up to 6 in the 38 m² live room, each with a separate headphone mix from our 8 sends.
Can I bring someone along?
One or two guests in the control room is normal. For larger groups we agree upfront so focus and safety in the live room stay intact.
What if we want to run over?
Extra hours are possible when the calendar allows. Band overtime after a day rate: €95 per hour incl. VAT; other services follow the hourly rate on your quote.
Should I bring my own headphones?
Not required — closed-back studio headphones are available. If you prefer a specific model, bring it.
Files and delivery
What format do you deliver?
By default 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz or your project sample rate. Mix and master also as delivery formats for streaming or download; see mastering and master format guide.
How long do you keep sessions?
12 months after the last session on secure storage. We then delete unless you request a written extension. Keep your own backups after download.
Can I supply stems for mixing?
Yes. Mix from supplied stems: €420 incl. VAT per track with 2 revision rounds. Read delivering stems for naming and export.
How fast do mix or master arrive?
Mix: typically within a few working days after the session, depending on complexity. Master: usually shorter; exact date is on the quote.
Do you edit podcasts too?
Yes. Recording hour €95, editing €135 per hour of source audio, or pack €380 — details on podcast and voice-over.
Rights and privacy
Who owns the recordings?
After full payment, recordings for your project are yours. Murkiernode does not claim copyright in your music or voice except where terms describe internal demo use.
Do you use my audio to train AI?
No. We do not use client material to train machine-learning models and we do not create voice clones without explicit written consent.
What happens to contact form data?
We process name, email and project details to reply and quote. Retention and rights are in the privacy policy; cookies via the cookie policy.
May I share session photos?
Photos on this website are AI illustrations. If you want pictures during your session, agree that upfront; respect other clients’ privacy in the building.
From what age can I book?
From 16 with your own consent. Younger clients book and pay through a legal guardian present for the session.
Practical and studio
When are you open?
Monday to Friday 09:00–21:00, Saturday 10:00–17:00, by appointment only. No walk-ins; every session is named. Evening slots fill early — plan via contact.
How do I reach the studio?
Tram 13 or bus 18 to Surinameplein, then about seven minutes on foot via Van Hallstraat; bike rack next to the entrance. Address: Van Boetzelaerstraat 35, 1051 DT Amsterdam. Map link on contact.
Is there parking?
On-street parking nearby; expect paid parking or a short walk from Surinameplein. Bike rack next to the entrance.
What should I bring for a vocal session?
Lyrics on paper or tablet, reference track on USB or stream, water. Warm-up tips: vocal warm-up guide.
