In short
- Work starts after you accept a written quote and pay a 25% deposit.
- Reschedule or cancel free of charge until 5 days before the session; after that, up to 50% of the session fee may apply.
- Mixing includes 2 revision rounds; we keep session files for 12 months unless agreed otherwise.
- Consumers have a withdrawal right where applicable; business clients pay invoices within 14 days.
1. Scope
These terms apply to all services Murkiernode B.V. (we, the studio) provides via murkiernode.click and in direct contact: studio recording, mixing, mastering, editing and related work at our Amsterdam studio.

2. Definitions

3. Quotes and contract formation
A request via contact, email or phone leads to a quote within about 2 working days. Each quote states its expiry date; if none is shown, it expires thirty days after we send it.
The contract is formed when you accept the quote in writing (email is enough) and pay the deposit. Until then, a proposed date is not firmly held. We may decline a request for a reasonable reason, such as safety concerns or incompatible material.
4. Prices and VAT
Prices on services and service pages include 21% VAT unless stated otherwise. The quote amount prevails. Examples: €320 for a four-hour vocal block, €695 for a full band day, €245 per mix, €295 for EP mastering.
Extra studio hours beyond the booked block are invoiced only after your oral or written approval, at the rate on the quote or service page (for band work, for example €95 per extra hour). Travel, parking or third-party tools you request are agreed upfront.
5. Deposit and payment
When booking, you pay 25% of the quote as a deposit. The balance is due on the session day (consumers) or per invoice terms for business clients: 14 days from invoice date unless agreed otherwise.
Payment by bank transfer; card payment is available in the studio. Until everything is paid, we may withhold final master files; working files follow article 10.
6. Rescheduling and cancellation

Send requests in time to [email protected]. These rules apply alongside the consumer withdrawal right for distance contracts.
7. Right of withdrawal (consumers)
If you are a consumer and conclude a contract at a distance (email, phone, form), you generally have 14 days to withdraw under EU consumer rules as implemented in Dutch civil law.
If you explicitly ask for the session to take place within that period, you pay a proportionate amount for work already done if you withdraw. For services fully performed at your request within the period, the right lapses when you agreed in advance that you lose it once performance is complete.
Notify withdrawal clearly via [email protected] or post to Van Boetzelaerstraat 35, 1051 DT Amsterdam. Refund within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method unless agreed otherwise.
8. Cancellation by the studio
If we must cancel due to illness, breakdown or force majeure, we inform you as soon as possible and offer a new date. If that does not suit you, we refund all amounts paid within 14 days. We do not swap engineers without discussion.
9. Sessions and studio rules
Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00–21:00, Saturday 10:00–17:00, by appointment only. Access: Tram 13 or bus 18 to Surinameplein, then about seven minutes on foot via Van Hallstraat; bike rack next to the entrance.. The vocal booth is 10 m²; the live room 38 m² with up to 6 musicians. Sessions for anyone under 16 are booked and paid by a legal guardian.
No smoking or vaping anywhere on the premises. Follow engineer instructions for safety and sound. Damage to studio property through intent or gross negligence is charged to the client. Your own gear remains at your risk; insurance is advisable.

10. Files, delivery and archive
Unless the quote says otherwise, we deliver recordings and mixes as 24-bit WAV via download link or your medium. Remote mix/master deadlines start when complete, usable files arrive.
We keep session and project files for 12 months after the last relevant session, then delete them unless you order extended storage in writing. You remain responsible for your own backups. See also delivering stems and master formats.
11. Revisions
Mixing includes 2 revision rounds as described on mixing; mastering follows mastering. One round means one bundled list of notes. Extra rounds or a new artistic direction after approval are quoted separately.
12. Intellectual property
Your works. Music, lyrics and other material you supply remain yours or your licensors’. You warrant you have rights to samples and covers. We do not claim copyright in your compositions.
Recordings. Neighbouring rights on phonograms are assigned to you once the job is fully paid, to the extent we could acquire any. Performers you bring must give written consent for fixation and exploitation.
References. We do not use your name, logo or audio in marketing without written consent. We do not train AI models on your recordings or create voice clones without explicit written permission.
13. Liability
We perform work with the care expected of a professional studio. Artistic outcome also depends on your preparation; that is not a guaranteed result. Our liability is limited to direct damage from attributable breach, except where mandatory law provides otherwise (including personal injury).
For business clients, total liability per job is capped at the invoiced amount incl. VAT, unless there is intent or wilful recklessness. See also disclaimer.
14. Force majeure
In force majeure — including power failure, pandemic, government measure or essential supplier outage — obligations are suspended for the duration. Parties agree a new date; if delay exceeds 28 days, either party may terminate with refund for undelivered services.
15. Complaints and disputes
Send complaints to [email protected] or by post. We respond within 2 working days with a proposal. Consumers may then bring a dispute before a competent court; the EU ODR platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
16. Final provisions
These terms apply from 15 October 2026; the version dated 15 October 2026 on the site is current. If quote and terms conflict, the quote prevails unless it explicitly points to more specific terms.
