Privacy policy

Effective date : 15 October 2026

This English version is provided for information. The Dutch version is legally authoritative. Privacyverklaring

In short

  • We only process data you send us or that we need for a quote, session or invoice.
  • No advertising cookies and no sale of personal data.
  • We do not use client recordings to train AI systems.
  • Questions or requests: [email protected] — we aim to reply within about 2 business days.

1. Who is responsible

Murkiernode B.V. ("we"), a private limited company (B.V.) with registered office at Van Boetzelaerstraat 35, 1051 DT Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is the controller for personal data on murkiernode.click and in studio and email contact: enquiries, quotes, bookings, recording, mixing, mastering and podcast sessions.

Trade register (KvK): 82181318. VAT ID: NL842646279B01. Managing director: Eva de Vries. Reach us at [email protected] or +31 (0)20 214 18 52.

We have not appointed a data protection officer; for our scale that is not mandatory. For any privacy question, write to us and we will answer in plain language.

2. Scope

This policy covers website visitors, people who contact us and customers who book our recording studio in Amsterdam. It explains what we process, why, how long we keep it and your rights.

If you are a business and bring guests or presenters to a session (for example for podcast and voice-over recording), you are usually the controller for their data. We then act as processor under our data processing agreement; your own privacy information applies to those individuals.

Practical questions about rates or access are on services and FAQ; contract rules are in our terms and conditions.

3. Data we process

Contact form: name, email address, optional phone number, chosen service, optional preferred date and a free-text project description. Required fields are needed to handle your request.

Quote, booking and delivery: billing details, artist or band name, scheduling correspondence, email or phone exchanges, payment references. Card payments in the studio are handled by our bank terminal; we do not store card numbers.

Recordings and session files: voice and performance can be personal data when you are identifiable. We use them only to perform the ordered service and deliver as agreed. If you film in the studio, you remain responsible for footage of others.

Technical data: our host TransIP B.V. processes server logs (IP address, time, page requested, user agent) for security. Your cookie choice is stored locally in the browser and does not identify you as a person.

We do not collect special-category data. When illness forces a date change, a short note that you cannot attend is enough — we do not ask for medical documents.

We do not sell or rent data. We do not send newsletters or unsolicited marketing. A new purpose is added only when compatible with the original one or when we ask for your consent.

Where we rely on legitimate interest, we balance it against your rights. You may object; see the rights section.

5. Voice, image and age

Your voice and likeness (photo or video) are protected by privacy and portrait rights. We do not publish recording excerpts, session photos or names on our site or social channels without your prior written consent.

We never use client recordings to train, test or improve artificial intelligence, and we do not create voice clones without the data subject’s explicit written consent.

Sessions for people under 16 are arranged by a legal guardian who books and pays. Our site is not aimed at children; the form is intended for adults or on their behalf.

6. Recipients

Inside Murkiernode, access is limited to colleagues who need it for scheduling, engineering, mastering or back-office work.

  • TransIP B.V. — website, mailbox and storage infrastructure at Vondellaan 47, 2332 AA Leiden, Netherlands;
  • FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) — relays messages from the web form to our inbox;
  • our external bookkeeper — invoice lines only, under professional confidentiality rules;
  • our payment service provider — settlement of transfers and in-studio card payments;
  • public authorities — only where statute obliges us to respond.

Processors sign agreements that meet Article 28 GDPR. Corporate clients should also read the data processing agreement.

7. Transfers outside the EEA

Hosting and day-to-day storage stay within the European Economic Area. The contact form uses FormSubmit, operated from the United States. When you submit, message content and metadata may be processed briefly outside the EEA.

Where no adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses apply, we rely on Article 49(1)(b) GDPR: the transfer is necessary for pre-contractual steps you initiate.

To avoid that route, email or call us directly at [email protected] or +31 (0)20 214 18 52; we handle your request the same way.

8. Security

Measures include TLS on murkiernode.click, role-based accounts, strong authentication, disk encryption on studio machines where supported, physical lock-up when nobody is on site, and wiping project media once the archive window in the table ends.

Should personal data leak in a way that could harm you, we report to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens when legally required and contact you without delay if the impact is serious. Internet transfer always carries residual risk; after receipt we handle files according to our studio policy.

9. Your rights

European data law gives you, among others:

  • a copy of your data and transparency about use (Art. 15 GDPR);
  • correction of inaccurate entries (Art. 16);
  • deletion when retention is no longer justified (Art. 17);
  • paused processing in the cases listed in Art. 18;
  • machine-readable export of data you supplied (Art. 20);
  • objection where we rely on legitimate interest (Art. 21);
  • withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).

Email [email protected] or post to Van Boetzelaerstraat 35, 1051 DT Amsterdam. We answer within one calendar month and may extend by two months for difficult files, with notice. Requests are normally free; we may charge a reasonable fee for repetitive or abusive requests.

You may lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl. Please talk to us first if you can — most concerns are settled informally.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

On murkiernode.click we do not use cookies for ads, profiling or social media. Only your banner choice is stored locally (mrkr_consent_v1, 182 days). Details and categories are in our cookie policy; change preferences via .

11. Links to other sites

The site may link to external services, for example map views via OpenStreetMap. Those parties apply their own privacy rules; we are not responsible for their practices.

12. Status and changes

This policy is informational and does not limit your legal rights. Effective: 15 October 2026. Last updated: 15 October 2026.

If our services or the law change materially, we publish a new version on this page. For ongoing work where the change matters to you, we inform you by email where appropriate.
